For some reasons, everytime i open an excel sheet while doing something else(internet), my computer gets very very slow. so its either excel or internet ??!!?? Am sure everyone doesnt have tomake that choice for speed. i tried to run spyware&disk clean up, didnt work!

Windows XP Pro sp2
Sony Vaio Laptop
Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.80ghz
2.79ghz, 448 mb of ram

Let me know if theres something i can do to fix this. Thanks.

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
448 mb of ram ... is your problem.

Once you load Windows XP and a couple of applications you will be using virtual memory -- reading and writing to the hard disk all the time. Add more memory (up to 1 GB would be good) and you will see improved performance.
