Hello friends, hope all is well!

I rely heavily on MS Excel on the work PC (desktop). PowerPivots, charts, VBA, formulas and large sets of data (daily bills, customer number of visits, per branch). I want your kind advise and suggestions .

What PC specs do I need placed on my computer. The PC that I currently have hangs and freezes a lot.

Your time and suggestions are truly appreciated in advance

All the Best,

So how much data etc. are there? What do the used ranges span & how large is the saved workbook?

I used to work with workbooks with 1million+ cells containing complex formulae on a Win 2000/Office 2000 Pentium system and never had 'freezing' problems.

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)? Have you tried running Excel in Safe Mode?

I would agree with Macropod. Your machine sounds very capable of handling EXCEL very well.

For Power BI and very large data sets, I would recommend 64bit Office.
