Hello everyone,
I am looking for a neat way to show balance items as assets when their month-end balance is a Debit (>0) and liabilities when their month-end balance is a Credit (<0).
Let me illustrate:
We have a bank account where:
on 15.01.2020, we deposit 1,000
on 15.02.2020, we pay out -2,000
on 15.03.2020, we deposit 3,000
At each month-end, the balance for that account is as follows:
31.01.2020, DR balance of 1,000 (+1,000)
29.02.2020, CR balance of -1,000 (+1,000 -2,000)
31.03.2020, DR balance of 2,000 (+1,000 -2,000 +3,000)
We want to show the DR balances as ASSETS in the balance sheet in January and March, as LIABILITIES in the balance sheet in February.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
