I have a Database where I keep track of tooling inventory
I usually paste a LineArt drawing from AutoCadLt into a table called ToolType

Recently when I try and paste into the table, the Edit pencil lights up, but nothing.

Any ideas?

Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
That icon indicates the record is being edited (either by you in this process, or someone else). To turn it off, you must move off the record. It won't be saved until then.
Note that you are doing things that are ill advised. Namely, storing objects in an Access table and working directly in tables. If this is only ever going to be your db, the latter is not much of an issue I guess. However, you will likely quickly reach the 2GB table and/or db limit (including overhead).

It's safer to use image controls and link them to folder paths for the images.
