I am using the link below to rea a cell in another closed wb. And it works. Except I need to fill a range and when I look at the formula in the cell it is posting as $A$2 instead of A2 so I can not drag it. What's wrong?

If it is supposed to be cell A2 in the code then try following:

ActiveCell.Formula = "='Z:\.. M C T S\[Suerst_wog.xlsm]VENDOR COMPLETED'A2"

If you need R2C1 relative cell address (2 rows below, 1 column right), then try following (with brackets):

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "='Z:\.. M C T S\[Suerst_wog.xlsm]VENDOR COMPLETED'R[2]C[1]"
