Hi
I wanted to use paste special option. So I click on a cell which has value A1=2. I want to paste this cell on a column, so I select Paste special then "Add" then "Skip blanks". but excel added number 2 to all cells including the blank cells? Why is that? Thank you.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Skip blanks means don't paste blank cells over filled cells, to add only to filled cells copy then use F5(Goto)-special-constants(or formulas) then paste special.

Lets say I have:

Excel 2010
CDE
351
464
59
616
725
8936
949
1064
111181
Sheet3

If I copy the first range onto the second, choosing "Skip Blanks" I get:

Excel 2010
CDE
355
466
59
616
725
899
949
1064
111111
Sheet3

So the blank cells didn't paste over.

Now if I have:

Excel 2010
ABC
35
426
5
6
7
89
9
10
1111
Sheet3

I can paste the 2 to the nonblanks with F5 to get:

Excel 2010
ABC
37
428
5
6
7
811
9
10
1113
Sheet3

"Skip Blanks" isn't used here because the copy range has no blanks
