Paste Image Offset

Hi,

I am attempting to paste several overlapping images into a cell. The process works perfectly until the third image is pasted, because Excel seems to want to offset any subsequent images by increasing amounts.

If that is not quite clear, I have a sheet that contains 10 images: 5 backgrounds and 5 overlays. All of the images are transparent PNGs that are exactly the same size.
My goal is place 1 - 5 of the overlays on top of a background to show the results of an inspection - it is meant to look similar to a trivial pursuit game piece.

The background lands perfectly.
The first overlay lands perfectly.
The second overlay is offset and does not line up with background.
The third overlay is offset further and does not line up with background.

Maybe the problem is that I am using activesheet.paste. Is there some other method of placing images on a sheet?

I've attached a screenshot that compares the pasted offset with a set where all of the images have the same x,y.

Thank you for any insight you can offer.
