Parts markup

i'm trying to develop a formula that helps me mark up parts based on the price range of the part. For example:

a) part 1- in cell 1a $.01-$5.00 (parts falling within this range would have a multiplier of 5--- and put that value in cell A10
b) part 1- in cell 1a $5.01-$30.00 (parts falling within this range would have a multiplier of 4---and put that value in cell A10
c) part 1- in cell 1a $30.01-$50.00 (parts falling within this range would have a multilplier of 3 ---and so on

i have 7 ranges total..just need to know how to write the formula and i can replicate for each range and multiplier.

Did you solve your problem? This might be a good candidate for creating a small lookup table of your markup multipliers and prices, then using VLOOKUP() on the lookup table. Could you provide a small sample of two or three rows with the cell values and expected results?

Note: Cell 1a is not a valid cell reference so I'm not understanding that part of your question. Do the multipliers continue down to 1? Can you give the complete set of values?
