Painfully slow

I have been visiting this board for over a year now and it is the most painfully slow board that I've ever visited (and its not the busiest). The board isn't graphic heavy, so I assume that its the server and the number of searches that slows it down.
Are there any plans to upgrade or move to a faster server or host?

Believe me, we're all aware of the speed issue (there are many posts in this part of the forum on this issue alone!).

We will be moving to a new board quite soon. Hopefully, it should be faster. Also, when the conversion to the new board is being made, there will probably be at least 1 full day of down-time.

Until then, however, please bear with us and remember: patience is a virtue

Great. I went back a few months in this forum and didn't see anything.
Are you switching to new forum software?
Vbulletin?
Invisionboard? ;o)
Ikonboard seems to be toast.

From all of the information I've seen on the subject, the new forum will simply be the latest version of php (which is a far cry from the version we're working with now).

As to the other posts on the whole "speed" issue, these are the result of doing a search for this forum only using the word "slow".

You probably wouldn't like me either, as I am painfully slow also. And to make things worse today in the lounge WillR's post said that because I'm an aries, I'm a "*****". So I guess that makes me "a painfully slow *****"

Now that I think of it maybe it's time for some coffee and viagra.

If it helps guys i get slow max 45 seconds at present 13 Feb about max MAX 1 second
