overwriting cells adjacent above or below

dear experts,

we know that excel will allow to overwrite the lateral neighbor cell
i was wondering whether this is also possible in vertical direction ?

Hi Desmond,

normally Excel will allow you to overwrite any cell, unless it is specifically protected, or has Data Validation that isn't being met. Can you give any more information?

-write a text into any cell
-reduce the height of the cell so you cant read it anymore
-the text will be cut off at the bottom of the cell - so you'll see only half of it

-->can it be made that the text will overlap to the cell below ?
