Hi,
I'm trying to create a graph of actual vs planned amounts in a 3D Clustered column chart. As there will be quite a few categories that I'm graphing the results for, I want each actual / planned amount to be overlapping (rather than side by side), with one of them having no fill colour (simply lines) to distinguish between the two. Please see the attached image.

I can kind of achieve this by putting the planned values to be on a secondary axis, however the problem is that the axis values are misaligned between the actual and planned figures.
Are there any ways to do this, preferably without macros?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
There is a great video on the is concept from Minda Treacy or Leila Gharani. I'll get the link.

I don't see overlap as an option for 3D, 2D is definitely possible though.

did you watch it? It requires overlapping. It specifically discusses overlap at 1:00 minute.

Here is a little more color with the overage/underage compared to budget highlighted.

Hi awoohaw,
Sorry about that.
Yes, I can see that it shows how to make the 2D graphs overlap. I have played around with that in the past. Unfortunately I can't see how to make it work for a 3D graph.
It seems like something that should be possible, but I can't seem to find anything on it....

Thanks again for your help.
