Hi all. I use Outlook Express as my mail client and would like to leave it open but not in the taskbar. Anybody know how to place it in the SysTray?

Thanks,

Tom

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
You have to change the registry Tom. Google search will yield you instructions. There are also tools you can download to do this for you ..

Here is the regkey for minimizing OL to the sys tray (couldn't find the OE regkey I used a while back) ..

I'm sure you can figure it out how to do this to OE.. path should be something like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Tom, don't forget that if you do change your registry (Start | Run | regedit), be SURE TO CREATE A BACKUP. Messing with the registry does not have an undo or save feature - you do it in RegEdit, it's done. Be careful, people have screwed their entire OS by messing with the registry and not knowing what they're doing.

Thanks firefytr
I thought maybe there was some simple API stuff. There is something like NotifyIcon I've used in VB. I'll look into my own solution because I would like to have some of Outlook Express' menu options available at a right click on the icon in the tray.

Thanks.
