Outlook 2010 - share custom views with calendar

I'm using Outlook 2010 on an exchange server. I have shared calendars with people, and those people have been able to see the custom views I created (I selected the option "this folder, visible to everyone" when creating the view).

Now, I am having issues duplicating that result. I have messed around with the calendar permissions, folder locations, created the view before both before and after sharing the calendar, etc. Nothing has been able to duplicate the result.

The goal is that I create a view on the calendar (e.g. only show red category), then share the calendar, and the person who receives the calendar should be able to see the view that has already been created.

Does anybody know how to make this work? Thanks in advance.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Solved it. The problem is that Outlook is really dumb.

Here's the way it works:
1. Select the calendar you want to view (i.e. the one that has your custom views built)
2. Close any and all other calendars, so that your desired calendar is the only one displaying.
3. Go to your "Mail" section.
4. Go back to your "Calendar" section.

Viola! Your custom views should now be visible to you, but ONLY FOR THIS SESSION. The second you close Outlook, you'll have to do it all over again. Furthermore, if you close the calendar you just had open, check your mail, and then check your calendar again, it will all reset again.

This was quite possibly the most aggravating thing I've encountered with Outlook. It has such a simple solution, but the fact that it was a problem in the first place shows that the calendar features were an afterthought.
