I have a spreadsheet saved to my One Drive (auto save enabled), that I share with 2 other individuals that both have editing rights. When one of the two people makes changes, it saves and is in sync with my version (I am the owner). The other person can see the most recent updates, but.............if he makes changes, it does not save. We then end up with two versions which is the out of sync problem.
I have been googling this for hours and cannot find a reason for this. I have tried all suggestions that I found and still no luck.
I am open to any suggestions anyone may have.

Does the "other person" have One Drive installed and their personal vault set up? Also, One Drive sync has to be turned on. See this link for code. HTH. Dave

Here is what I discovered.
I recreated this person's access and changed him to view only.
I provided the link and when he opens the link I can see him and his location. If he select the option to open in desktop (Excel), he then disappears.

So what happens if you give them edit privileges? My experience has been that to have one drive update across pcs, each pc has to have the same one drive account (ie. same e-mail owner). Other wise, you need to send a share link to your file with edit privileges to each person. They can then go to their one drive folder location(with the sync turned on using the code as linked) then right click One Drive personal, select View Online, select shared, select the file then download to their pc. The user would then have your file to access, edit as needed and save back to one drive. They would then need to send you a link to the file with edit privileges which you could then repeat the process of navigating to your one drive folder location(with the sync turned on using the code as linked) then right click One Drive personal, select View Online, select shared, select the file then download to your pc. You only have to set up the links once but the whole process is cumbersome especially if you have more than one other person to share the file with. MS has likely made this purposefully cumbersome because they offer a Sharepoint app for sale that does what you want. There doesn't seem to be anyway to automate the retrieval of the file from a Share folder but you can automate uploading the file from your pc by saving it to One Drive directly or through your settings backing up files to One Drive. I'm not that familiar with the One Drive file exchange and I'm not even sure how you managed to auto sync with one other person? Perhaps others have more insights/experience/advice than I can offer. Hopefully they will share especially if they have figured out how to automate the retrieval of shared files. HTH. Dave
