I have a file that has been developed via my Office 365 subscription which I have placed in a SharePoint folder of one of my clients (I have an admin login to their Office 365 subscription).

When I try to open this file in Excel rather than the browser, the only option available is to open in Excel 2010 (which I have a copy of installed on my machine). Ideally I want to open this in 2016 but I could make do with 2010, but when I select 2010 I get a message saying 'Access denied'.

So I suppose 2 questions -
How do I open in 2016?
How do I open the file once 2016 set?

I have previously dropped files onto their SP site and not had any problems with opening in 2016 and just opening.

TIA
