Opening csv file in Excel using VBA

Hi,

I'm looking at the book VBA and Macros: Microsoft Excel 2010 by Bill Jelen/Tracy Syrstad.

Page 156 has some VBA code to "make the csv file active" using

Workbooks.Open Filename:="C:\sales.csv"

However, I get an error when I run this line of code. If I substitute "sales.csv" for a .xlsm file it opens the file fine, no problems. I'm 100% sure that a file named "sales.csv" is located on the c-drive.

The error I get is Run-time error '1004 which indicates that the file could not be found (due to spelling file name incorrectly or file location is incorrect).

However, as I can successfully substitute the .csv file with a .xlsm file I do not believe this is an issue. Any ideas. Grateful for any suggestions?
