Hi,

Does anyone know how to run a macro from an Outlook Calander'ed task or entry ? (re-occurring daily task) etc.. etc..

I have a macro that reads in a data file and creates multiple report files on a network drive... and i want to run this every day but without having to open and run it.

I am planning to place the macro that generates the reports in Workbooks Open and run it by getting outlook to launch the workbook.

Any ideas or other ways maybe ?

Thanks in advance... Kuldip

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
You should look at using windows scheduler which can be accessed in the control panel.

You can set a macro to run every day or even open a workbook at a given time.

Thanks Trevor,

I will investigate and get it working...

Any chance of a rough schematic of how I should setup the daily task in the windows scheduler as I have not ever used this ... so any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks ...again...

Thanks Trevor,

I had a quick scan and will investigate further but I noticed it was for a Windows 2000, I susupect no difference for a XP or other OS.

Also, I could not see how you would run a macro in an XLS file but I will investigate and hopefully this will become clearer.

Thanks again. Kuldip
