I have a link which when clicked will prompt me as to how I want to open the generated report(which is in CSV format).

The issue I am having is every time this link is clicked/opened I am prompted with a message as to how I want to open the file, with what program.

Is there any way to suppress this message and have the file auto-open in excel every time?

Thanks for the help!

To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
1. Locate the file
2. right click on it and go to open with
3. Select choose program
4. Pick Excel
5. Check the box "Always use selected program to open blah blah blah"

Thanks for the quick response.

I should have been more specific. It isn't a file per se, so it isn't located in any particular place.

What happens is someone has a javascript page which needs inputs for datetime. Once those inputs are input into the text boxes, a submit button is pushed. Once the button is pushed a CSV file automatically opens in excel.

I know the exact address of this generated file, however it can change depending on what date and time is input into the form.

I am trying to automate a data pull via VBA which will allow me set up auto-generated and emailed reports.

The sample link I have when clicked prompts me for what I want to open the result file with.

Clear as mud?
