Does anyone know why Excel seems to only have room for 3 Conditional Formats per cell (without writing a macro)?

Will they (be able to) expand this limit in future versions of Excel?

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
That's just how MS did it. I've heard nothing about changing it.

There's a reason for everything - they didn't just limit it to 3 for 'kicks', they must've had space for it.

Now, I'm curious if it was just a marketing experiment, or if they just don't want to make space (for the rest of the color spectrum).

Someone must be 'in-the-know' about Excel's plans for the next version.
