OneDrive - Excel Share Workbook + Merging

Hello,

I have an excel workbook on my OneDrive folder that I want to share with some classmates -- I checked the box to "allow changes by more than one user at the same time - this also allows workbook merging".

I did a test run and tried opening the excel workbook from two different computers (and different users) at the same time. However, it won't let me edit from both computers at the same time and I keep getting the same dialogue box "This file is locked for editing by ..."

Any idea why this is happening? If allowing changes at the same time by multiple users is not allowed on OneDrive, does anyone have any suggestions how I could do this from the cloud?

I used to work on a shared excel that was on a local server and I remember that I was able to see the edits happening in real-time -- but I might be mistaken because that was a few years back. I also remember that when we got this error, we used to just save a new version to our desktop and replace the one on the server with that. I tried this, but still not working..

I hope there's a fix to this! Thanks!

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
No takers?

It's really weird why it wouldn't work. Any ideas how to fix this so that multiple people can work on this excel sheet with real-time merging?
Or do you have another way (other than OneDrive) than doing this?

Thanks!
