Our accounting system links nicely into Excel with custom formulae, and pulls live data from the accounting system.

As our business has grown, more and more companies have been added to our system and therefore more and more formulae - we are now at 300 rows and 45 columns of formulae. It is taking around 1 hour to calculate when you press F9

To get round this, the spreadsheets have been split into around 8 smaller ones, but I don't think it is the way forward. We will probably double in size again in the next 24 months...........................

Can anyone recommend ways to improve the calculation speed? Better RAM, Processors etc?

TIA

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Hi,
I am guessing that you have already searched for suggestions like this:Suffering from Slow Excel Spreadsheets?? Try these 10 Tricks

Which if have not already done so, would be worth your while working through.

Without fully understanding how your workbook is constructed, difficult to give definitive suggestions but maybe the way you are pulling the data from your accounting system with formula could be revised to a VBA solution perhaps?
