Hi

I have written a function in the form as follows

Function X (Y)

X = worksheetfunction.sum (range("A1", range(Y.offset (1,0))

End Function

This doesn't work - can anyone help?

I don't think you can use an Excel function from within a user defined function. Could be wrong.

Have done it before and it works - in fact I know that my problem surrounds the definition of the range object as if I describe the function as:

X = worksheetfuntion.sum (range("a1:a2")) it works...

Ok.
Try this then.

X = worksheetfunction.sum (range("A1", Y.offset (1,0).Address)

If this does not work then I'll fire up Excel and see if I can help you or not.
