Offset and COUNTA in define name

Hello!
Im having issue with putting a formula in the define name "refers to".
The formula i used is: =offset(1.Etasje!$C$15,0,0,Engine!$C$4,1).

The error i get is : There's a problem with this formula.

Not trying to type a formula?
When the first character is an equal (=) or minus (-) sign, Excel thinks its a formula.

*you type: =1+1, cell shows: 2

To get around this, type an apostrophe (') first:

*you type: '=1+1, cell shows: =1+1.

The sheet names are spelled correctly so i have no clue why this isnt working. Hope someone can help me with this.

I'm not an expert so please excuse me if I babble too much.

I think the noted error is a generic response to a problem with formula. To get more detail try putting the formula in a worksheet cell. I suspect you'll get a more descriptive error.

Additionally, all but the first argument to offset are integer values. Does Engine!$C$4 return a positive integer?

Thanks for the advice to put the formula in a cell. The formula should have been: =OFFSET('1.Etasje'!$C$15;0;0;Engine!$C$4;1).
