Hi all

I've just installed the Office 2007 SP2. I've not yet had time to test the all the new features and the bug fixes but I did do some tests immediately.

- One bug that I ran into some times these last months: if you wanted to manipulate a chart in vba sometimes the XValues property of a Series would give you bogus values. Ms said it would be fixed with SP2. I ran some tests and it really seems to be fixed.

- Save As now includes PDF. Finally!

- Outlook took way too much time to initialize. I haven't timed the times before and after, but I'm sure that now it takes less than half the time

I'll try to test other new features in the next days/weeks. One cool one is that now Word and PP share the Excel chart object model.

Have you already installed it? Care to share?

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I noticed that Outlook launches faster. So does Excel. In fact, my whole system seems snappier at the moment -- maybe some startup processes have been changed/stopped?

Here's a link to the fixes...

I've not used Outlook for e-mail purposes, but I feel that my Excel opens slower. I have one more add-in that opens than when I had 2003, but it seems like there is a noticable difference in opening time IMO. But I really like Excel and Word 2007. Haven't really used PP much either to know how I feel about that, but always thought it was pretty user-friendly in the past.

I love a lot of the new features in 2007 as I have said in this thread here post #24:

Pedro, you would get complete satisfaction when you work with arrays over large ranges in Excel 2007. No more sit outs waiting for the spreadsheet to calculate the array formulae over larger ranges. Excel 2007 can easily handle over a 100000 rows without any problems, smooth enough :-)

Stormseed,

Your avatar is unsettling. You have used much better ones before. Hope a change is coming soon.

A potentially nasty bug with Word 2007 SP2 concerns the deletion of double spaces. If you've got an in-line shape in a Word 2007-format document with spaces on both sides, and use Find/Repalce to replace all double spaces with single spaces, the in-line shape will be deleted - along with one of the spaces.
