ODBC connection fails when table is queried.

I have an ODBC linked table in an Access database. When I try to run a query using the table I get the ODBC call failed error. I can open the table and use filters in the table, I just can't run a query on it. Is there something in my local settings that I need to change?

Actually I get the error when I turn totals on. I must have too many records to use group by. Is there a preset row limit in Access or is the process timing out?
