Numeric Date Formatting Question

I have a field in a table supplied to me that houses dates as numeric values (e.g.: 38168 for 6/30/04). I want to convert these numerics to a date so I can update to a field in the table that has dates in standard mm/dd/yy format. Any thoughts on the best way to approach this?

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Hi,

Access stores dates as numbers anyway so you don't even need to convert the numbers you have. Just run your update/append query updating the date field with your the numeric values. Access will perform the conversion for you.
