Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Hi
There are a couple of ways of doing this depending on the upper and lower value limits. If the number must be contain at least 8 digits, with the first digit being greater than zero, then use a validation rule of >9999999. However, if you want to allow leading zeroes and there can only ever be 8 digits, then use a input mask of 00000000 instead. But if you want to allow values greater than 99,999,999 then use a format of 00000000 as a last resort.
HTH, Andrew. :)
