Hi forum,

Stuck on this one, I'd like to show the iteration of a product sold in a data set. My data set will sorted in date value oldest to newest.

A B C
1 Product Date Sold Iteration no
2 Shorts 01/01/2023 1
3 Shorts 01/02/2023 2
4 Shorts 01/03/2023 3
5 T-shirt 02/01/2023 1
6 T-shirt 06/01/2023 2

TIA

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
With Power Query

Power Query:
let
    Source = Excel.CurrentWorkbook(){[Name="Table1"]}[Content],
    #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Source,{{"Date Sold", type date}}),
    #"Grouped Rows" = Table.Group(#"Changed Type", {"Product"}, {{"Data", each _, type table [Product=text, Date Sold=nullable date]}}),
    #"Added Custom" = Table.AddColumn(#"Grouped Rows", "Custom", each Table.AddIndexColumn([Data],"Index",1,1)),
    #"Removed Columns" = Table.RemoveColumns(#"Added Custom",{"Data"}),
    #"Expanded Custom" = Table.ExpandTableColumn(#"Removed Columns", "Custom", {"Date Sold", "Index"}, {"Date Sold", "Index"})
in
    #"Expanded Custom"

What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

How about
Excel Formula:
=countifs(a$2:a2,a2)
