Hi all,

I'mhaving trouble using currency formatting in a cell with multiple values.

Column B shows one figure, Column C shows another, and I'd like column D to be "Column B - Column C," but I'm having trouble retaining the currency formatting (e.g. the comma separators). I created a formula that is able to show the $ signs and minus symbol, but the comma separators are stumping me.

Here is a sample worksheet with an example of the raw data and what I'd like it to look like. Would someone please assist me?

Thank you!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Using this formula in cell D2 should do it:
Code:
=TEXT(B2,"$0,000.00") & " - " & TEXT(C2,"$0,000.00")
Then copy down for all rows.

Give this formula a try...

=TEXT(B2,"$#,##0.00 - ")&TEXT(C2,"$#,##0.00")
