Can this option be set up in the User Preferences? I find that I do NOT want responses and have to remember to uncheck it when I create a new post. It would be nice to be able to just turn this feature off from my preferences.

Hey Phantom.

I don't think so...I looked in the Preferences and checked the FAQ but I don't see any way to shut this off without unchecking it when you post a new thread.

I'll talk to the boss and see if I missed something.

I'm the one that wants a notif EVERY time someone posts in ANY topic I've posted in, whether I have asked the question or not.

I think that it is a great feature. I just think it would be nice to have the option to choose what default you prefer.
