not formatted cells get same formatting of other cells?

I formatted a small table (please see the link below). I changed the color of some cells. Now when I start typing on other cell below the cells I format it, these cells will get the same formatting to? why is that? Thanks you

It's because they are becoming part of the table, and the table will keep the same format automatically.

Tank you. but why part of the table? and how far from the table (how many cells away) until it become not part of the table? thanks

A table will continue until it meets an empty row or column.

but these cell were empty.. the whole row and column were empty!
