new on access. help!!

Hi all,

I have just started using access. I have a couple of simple questions to get me going.....

How do I create an interactive form. (I have clicked on forms etc, and created by own text box). But how do I make this interactive with say a table called "project" and field name called "name". ie how do i ask in this text box to populate the field?

secondly, how do i ask to delete a record via a form.

Firstly, I wouldn't worry about text boxes at this point. If you have a table already created with various fields, the following should help:

1) Go to "Forms" and select "New", then select "Form Wizard", and select your table name from the drop down list.

2) Follow the Wizard steps - Select the fields you want to have on the form (the ones you want to populate, plus any others you feel necessary). Select how you want you form to look, name it & save it.

3) It will open in Form View, but you can go into design view and change its layout, add other fields (from the Field List button on the toolbar) and other wonderful things.

When in Form View, any things you add to the fields should be reflected in your table. Also, in Form View, there should be a button on the top toolbar that allows you to delete the current record - it look like a small D with a "X" next to it. Give it a try and see if it works.
