New Forum - Abbreviated URLs

A second thing I'm not thrilled about in the new forum is the way an URL is abbreviated, with an ellipsis in the middle. Sure, if I mouse over it, I can see the link in the status bar of the browser, but that requires me to move the mouse, then change my focus to the status bar.

I understand why an email address would be minged in this way, but it makes no sense to do this to an URL to a web site. It only inconveniences the users of the forum.

Hi, Jon,

You can change the appearance of the URL using the "advanced reply" functionality
see the option: "Automatically parse links in text" which you can uncheck

Personally I don't see why the full links would need to be visible within the page. I like them to be shorter, which to my sense is an improvement for readability (perhaps my eyes are older than yours )

To get the full link you can rightclick it and select "copy link"
