New Excel User and Learner

I have taken several Excel courses during the past years but never had occasion to use it in my work - never had a home computer to practice so never quite got the Excel picture. Now that I have a MAC Mini, I find the Excel very interesting but I'm kind of lost as to how to continue. I reviewed the info on "Learn Excel from Mr. Excel." It seems to be the answer. Question: Does this book apply to Excel on the Mac? I notice many differences in the regular Excel and the Excel for Mac. I have been able to sort them out, (finding the corresponding instruction tab, etc. on the MAC to perform the same function as the regular Excel) but it takes a while.
