Hi folks, I bought myself a new Mac Book. My old Office 2011 is out of installs and it looks like Office 2019 is where I'm going. But I do have a couple of questions. Does anyone who has experience with 2019 know if:
1) does it support VBA (in memory of 2008 :) )
2) is the MacScript command supported?

Any reason that I shouldn't get it?

Thanks for your time.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
It does support VBA, but the VBE is a dog's dinner. Among other things, you can't create userforms.

If you use Power Query, forget what you have learned... it's not on Mac unless you are on the Office Insiders team.

But coming from 2011 that won't really be a change. ;)

Design time. There's no support for it. I'd add "yet" but it's been a loooong time coming with no change.

Grrrr. I hope that it will support existing userforms. Other wise .... I got a problem.

Thanks for all the info.

Yes, existing userforms are fine, you just can't add new ones. There are also a few other quirks, like you can't use the dropdowns in the code window to create worksheet event declarations. It's a definite step backwards from 2011 as far as the VBE is concerned.

I've seen online third parties offering 2016 and even 2011 for download. Is 2016 for Mac a thing? I like the windows 2016 I have at work.

It is, but it has the same issues.
