Hello all, once again another stumbling block and could use a push over the hurdle. In column "G" I have a description of an item we are to fabricate. Each item to fabricate has at least 2 entries. These would be G1 and G2. There could be more to create the item (i.e. G3, G4, G5 etc..). Then the next item would begin on the next row. Every item has 1 top and 1 base These would be two of the descriptions in column G. Then most items have at least 1 riser and may have multiple risers. These are the variable additional entries in column G. so assume there are 4 total items in the order. with varying quantities of risers on each, it would look something like this
G
1 10' Standard Base
2 10' Standard Top
3 10' Riser X 2'
4 10' Riser X 4'
5 5' Curb Inlet base---- This is a new structure
6 5' Curb Inlet Top
7 5' Riser X 1'
8 20' Curb inlet Base ---- This is a new structure
9 20' Curb Inlet top
10 4 x 4 jct box base --- This is a new structure
11 4 x 4 jct box riser
12 4 x 4 jct box Top
As added info - the top row for each structure has the total height of the structure. On another sheet I have named ranges for drop down lists and Vlookup formulas. The need is to add the risers total height together per structure. I can get the height of each piece, but how can I get excel to understand (using the example above) to group the total height of risers on row 1-4 together, the total height of risers on row 5-7, the total height of risers on row 8-9 etc... and keep these entries separate and not a cumulative total for the column. Only cumulative for each structure?
Thanks in advance!
Mark
