google is not helping with this problem. maybe i dont know enough about vba, but ive tried a few different vba samples and im getting nowhere. i have a sheet in excel that is used daily to track two different things. in the morning supervisors call me to let me know how many people they have available for work that day. i take that number and input it on my sheet at the top for each section. that is the top few rows of my sheet and gives me a total amout of workers for that day. the bottom portion of my sheet is an events log of the jobs that happen each day. basicly which section took the job, how many workers and some time tracking(job start time and stop time). what i need to do in order to use this data for reports is to populate two tables in access with this data using a macro button on the sheet. there is already an archive button on the sheet that takes the sheet and saves it in a folder on the shared drive. this method is almost useless for using the data for reports, i have to take each sheet open it and compile all of them to one sheet so i can use the info. what i need to have happen is to populate access with this data from excel each morning when i hit the archive and clear sheet button. the top portion should populate one access table for availability and the bottom portion should populate a second table for the jobs that were worked for that day. i tried a few vba samples from google and microsoft but still can get a working macro. i have office pro 2010 that i am using which could be one reason i cant get old vba samples to work for me. i had some sample vba to transfer ranges from my sheet but it cant be a set range for the second table. the first top portion of my sheet will only need one access table record daily, but the bottom portion of the sheet(the job log) is several daily records. so the range needs to change for that portion. can anybody help me solve this problem? thanks.
