Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Maybe try recording the action, and step in after stopping the recording. You could have a Quick Access Toolbar button to do this on the active window PPT file. A bit of work to get this to this point.

You can adjust the slide master in PowerPoint to the style (format fonts etc) that you want. Which applies to the slides and doesn't change any titles you've added, no need for a macro. The recording macros in PowerPoint was removed after version 2003.
