How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
A formula INSIDE Column N won't be possible, since Column N holds the 1 to use.
If you use a helper column, you can rebuild a Column N, so to speak

This will return the value in Column O if Column N is Blank or 1.
If Column N is not Blank or 1, it will simply return the value in Column N:

Code:
=IF(OR(N1="",N1=1),O1,N1)

If you would rather not use a helper column, then a For Each loop in VBA, or a Filter in VBA will probably be better.

Hope this helps.
