Hi all,

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I cannot get this vlookup to work. For reference, I'm using Excel 2016 for Mac (which I quietly suspect might be the issue but maybe I'm just being defensive!).

What I'm trying to do is return a text string associate with an account code. Here's my formula:

and here's my table array

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Based on the alignment of the data in A2:A45, that appears to be Text, and the value being looked up is a number. This would yield the result.

Code:
=VLLOKUP(TEXT(G3,Accounts!A2:B45,2,False)

I suggest always defining the lookup type and using the Exact match criteria as well. Approximate match (True) is the default when not defined.
