Could someone here give me a few examples of pivot tables that I can work out as practice with total and subtotal? Would like intermediate level please. I'd appreciate it.

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
you can use this data information to create your own pivot table/s with totals and subtotals, the best way i find to learn anything is to start at the beginning and in this case it is with the data. A simple web search will give you access to loads of training materials / instructions specific to your own requirements.
The site i gave you above has links to specific types of Pivot functions so i would start there.
I have updated the link below to the Pivot material.

Appreciate the reply. But whats the point in creating pivot tables if theres no source for practice exercises?

A "simple" web search to finding exercises is far from simple. I've been seeing people on a few forums asking for actual practice exercises and none have been provided which is weird af.

Also your updated link ONLY provides tutorials NOT exercises.

Sorry can't help/advise you more as I am self taught so picked it up over the years as needed and have done no official training courses

Congratulations. But I think being "self taught" doesnt include help from external sources like tuts. I could be wrong.

Quite a few of the YouTube videos provide links to their How To page which in turn links back to the Video and also gives you their practice files.

Use Excel Pivot Table Calculated Field or Calculated Item

Appreciate the link but again theyre tuts NOT actual exercises.

I'll explain what I mean by exercises. First thing, tuts are NOT exercises. Exercises are where a question is asked on solving a problem and you WORK OUT the problem WITHOUT a "tutor" or "tutorial" guiding you towards the answer. Hope this helps you understand what I'm looking for. Looking forward to your reply

Sorry I forgot to get back to you.
I understand what you mean but without enrolling in a course they are bit hard to come by.
I think any tutorial that provides the files will work for what you want, you just need to think about it differently.

Normally with an Exercise.
  1. You get the question
  2. You get some sample data
  3. You solve the problem
  4. You normally also want the solution so you can check your work and see if there was a better way

Most tutorials provide all 4 of these just in a different order.
  1. Read the very start of the tutorial or section of the tutorial - it will give you the question
  2. Do not read the tutorial or watch the video just download the file - you will have your sample data
  3. Try and do it yourself
  4. Watch or read the tutorial if you still need to
