Using Internet Explorer, when I put my mouse over the Country Flag beside someones name, it gives me the associated country - very educational.

However this doesn't happen for me when using Firefox as I mostly do now.

Is this a local issue to me or does Firefox limit this in some way.

I suppose my question is should it work or not

Thanks a lot

It's just Firefox and how it handles the ALT tags in HTML.

Technically, IE should not display the small box of popup text when you mouseover images. From what I've read about this, the ALT tag was never meant to be for that purpose; it is really to encode text to be used for those with text-to-speech converters for the visually impared who cannot see the images.

Firefox handles them as they were intended to be and will *not* display the popup text. There is some debate about this, from what I've seen.

However, if you want to view the text as a mouseover, someone wrote an extention to do just that:

Thanks for the reply Kirsty. At least I know it's not just me now. I'll think I'll try the link you suggest as I used to like seeing where everyone was from and learning some flags at the same time

Thanks
