Hi Everyone,

The other day excel started adding horizontal lines to the border across the entire row of any cell that i input data. The top line is a normal border, the bottom line is a thicker border. I thought it might have something to do with tracking changes, but I have tried to tinker around in that dialog box and am unable to get them to turn off/go away.

Any idea on how to turn this off?

Thanks as always
Zack

Does this occur on a particular worksheet only or does it happen on all of your worksheets?

Does this occur in one particular workbook or on all of your workbooks?

All of my workbooks currently. The weird thing is as I toggle between multiple workbooks testing this some of the borders will drop off and that section will look normal. When I go and type in the workbook again the row borders come back as soon as I input the data.

Did you recently add and Add-Ins to Excel? If so, try disabling them and see if that makes a difference. If you did not recently add an Add-In, did you perhaps add something new to your Personal workbook (assuming you have one) recently? If so, try commenting it out and see if that make a difference. If neither of these worked or apply, then maybe your copy of Excel/Office has become corrupt. You might try repairing Excel (if it is installed as a stand-alone) or Office (if that is where you got Excel from). To do that in Windows (don't have a Mac so I don't know the procedure for it), call up the Control Panel and select the "Programs and Features" item, find your Excel or Microsoft Office entry and select it, then either select Repair if it is shown at the top of the listing or Change which will give you a Repair option once you select it. Beyond these suggestions, I really don't have another idea.
