My VBA editor freezes when I try to paste 1800 lines of code into it.

I keep my VBA code in a separate source file. I am using Excel 2016 on Windows 10. I go to the editor and Select All and press Delete to clear the entire editor. I go over to my source code and select all and copy. I go to the VBA editor and try to paste the code into the editor and it freezes and I have to close Excel through Task Manager. Why is this happening and what can I do to solve it? Should I try and re-create my workbook from scratch?

Well, as they taught us in medical school when a patient says "It hurts when I do this" to respond "Then don't do that!"

My guess is the windows clipboard is overwhelmed. Have you tried exporting the code module and then importing it in the new workbook?
