Hi there, would appreciate a pointer on the following:
I've got a database, and want it to be multi user, in the following respects - many sites, putting data in, and getting reports out, sharing all the data, and doing this simultaneously.
Is this possible? Am I dreaming..?

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Welcome!

I believe that this is one of the big advantages of Access. It deals well with sharing (something I still have trouble with!).
There are some rules to sharing, only the originating user can make design changes, for example. There is also an icon convention for letting you know the status of records in a shared table. The little 'play' button means you can edit the record, no problem. The little pencil means you have edited the record, but not saved. And the little 'no smoking' icon (without the burning cig) means the record is opened for editing by another user and you can't access it until they're out.
There's a lot more to say about sharing, such as methods of setting your db up on a network to optimize speed.
I hate it when people say 'check the help', but there's really too much to put in a post. Search on 'sharing' and you'll find a wealth of additional info.

Many thanks Corticus, your advice and wit are much appreciated. I shall indeed check the help. As for your problem with sharing, I suggest that you visit a psyhciatrist, and see if there isn't something in your childhood that has made you this way.
Kindest regards,
Alice
