Good Afternoon,

I am using a Mac Pro, with Excel for Mac 2011, and I am having a problem trying to multiply a certain set of values followed by an exact letter. To be more in-depth I have varied numbers followed by a letter at certain character places and what I was wanting Excel to do was get the number Not Mattering the Character Place of the number and extract into the selected formula cell, BUT if the number was followed by a letter B than I would want excel to multiply that number by 5. If that is possible it would be greatly appreciated to receive the formula on how it would look.

Thank you for your time, and if you want an example it would be like this.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
JAMR1988, Good evening.

"...am using a Mac Pro, with Excel for Mac 2011..."
I'm not sure if it woks on MAC.

Try to use:

Code:
=IF(ISTEXT(A1),IF(RIGHT(A1,1)="B",VALUE(LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-1))*5,VALUE(LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-1))),
A1)

Is it what you want?
I hope it helps.

Amazing, you my friend are on a streak!!

It worked perfectly, apart from me converting a couple formula headings but the ones you got weren't that far from theirs, you know how Mac loves to set themselves apart from everything. But anyways very appreciative of that thank you very much!!
