multiple workbooks statistics

I have multiple workbooks that are used by train stations to record times or trains arriving and departing, each of these workbooks contains the times and train numbers and then saves it under the date completed along with the stations name.

I am trying to work out the best way to consolidate all this data into one workbook and then be able to show statistics (graphs and charts) where I could select either a day, week or month and then select a single train or all trains to show the information.

I have hit a brick wall with ideas so any help is appreciated!!!

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
PivotTables, perhaps. But I would create database (Access or SQL Server).
