Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I am not sure if there is a limit, though I do know that Access was not designed to be used by many users. It does not handle data conflicts as well as other database programs (i.e. SQL, etc), and the stability and security aren't as good either.

Access/97 has a theoritical limit of 256 concurrent users. Though, I would not count on getting even half that, with decent performance.

I never really put anything out that will be used by more than 70 people.

It does depend what the database is for?
What are you trying to do with it?

Database is for stockroom control I expect to have a maximum of 20 people at the same time, thing is...... I heard through the grapevine that it could only handle 12 people... so I decided to check with you guys.

I agree with philem I dont think it can handle 256 users at the same time

The type I was on about is for people updating only,
not many queries.

25 Max for a full blown Querying database.
Also depend on your server. But you should be fine.
