Multiple Separate Excel Instances

I do not like the way Excel includes all open workbooks in a single instance of Excel. There are times when I need them completely separate. I can do it by typing Excel /x in the command. But is there a way to start a separate instance of Excel by clicking the icon and holding a key? I have tried a few combinations, but nothing has worked so far.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hold the Shift key and click the Excel icon.

This is how I do it.
If I already have an Excel instance open, to open another new instance, I right-click on the Excel icon on my Desktop, and select "Microsoft Excel 2010".
