How can I query in Access for only unique entries? In other words, let's say I have a field that is the same value in multiple records, but I only want to see a single instance in my query.
Re: Multiple Records w/ Same Field entry -> Query on only
Hi, in your query design, click View -> Totals, a new row will appear in your query with the heading "Group By". If you keep the "Group By" setting then you can do what you want, i.e. only show the one record where there are multiple instances. Sometimes these queries might show what you think are "funny" results, so I recommend you experiment with the various settings and options (e.g. Sum , Count, Min etc) to understand how this works. There is an MS article on total queries here.
